21-year-old dies in central Maine rollover crash

A 21-year-old Lewiston man died on Tuesday night after the SUV he was driving hit a guardrail on Interstate 95 in Palmyra.
The Bangor Regional Communication Center received an automated crash notification at about 9:26 p.m. Soon after, several motorists called to report a piece of the guardrail lying in the northbound lane and a vehicle in the median, Maine State Police said in a news release.
Police determined that the vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner driven by Isaac Lemieux, went off the road, hit the guardrail and rolled over several times.
Lemieux was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
Several other drivers reported hitting the piece of guardrail that was left in the northbound passing lane. Occupants reported minor injuries or no injuries, police said.
